It seems you may very well be able to dream your future.

I know it sounds very sci-fi, like something from Minority Report; but there’s a development in the study of dreams that suggests our dreams prepare us for some of life’s little, and perhaps, looming eventualities.

Here’s a wonderfully entertaining and elucidative article about it, that covers that critical moment when you should grab the woolly cucumber.

There are a couple of things that any man of substance fears. One is having his legs ripped off by a wild bear; another is a Springboks versus All Blacks RWC final where the teams are tied eight seconds from the final whistle, the All Blacks have a penalty and Dan Carter asks for the ball. Luckily, that’s not going to happen this year. But there’s another nightmare scenario for any man, and, in a juxtapositional twist, it’s a woman’s dream. Read more…
